My next craft show is almost here and I’m really excited to say that I have been chosen to exhibit this April at Abingdon Spring Craft Show.

ACF Craft fairs have announced the return of the Spring Contemporary Arts, Crafts and Design Show held over four days in the exquisite Medieval Abbey Buildings in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.  The show is open from Thursday 11th April to Sunday 14th April 2013 and entry is from 10am to 5pm daily except Sunday which is open until 4:30pm.

The Abingdon Spring Craft show is an opportunity to indulge yourself completely and re-invent the pleasure of shopping.  Take in the atmosphere of the historic building whilst viewing carefully selected exhibitors chosen for their individuality of work and authenticity of design.

The selection of crafts include handmade furniture, leather goods, pottery, painting, sculpture, clothing and not to mention handcrafted jewellery.  All offering the chance to purchase unique pieces and gifts not available on the high street and selected for Abingdon Spring Craft Show.  For more information about the show click here or on the leaflet.  The craft show is held in the Medieval Abbey Buildings, Abingdon, Oxfordshire  OX14 3JB.

Silver Charms for Bracelet by Tesoro Handcrafted Jewellery

I think charm bracelets are a great idea and I am going to show you some of my silver charms for bracelet below.  But first – why I have such found memories of charms – my Nanna had a bracelet with gold charms on and as a child I loved to look at them and listen to the noise they made hanging together.  Now charms have moved on and you can clip them onto your bracelet or necklace and move them around as you please rather than them being soldered into place.

The charm above is lovely sterling silver puff heart and looks great mixed with other silver charms for bracelet or necklace.  Below are some of the other silver charms that I produce and all are fitted with 11mm sterling silver trigger clasps ready to go on your favourite bracelet.  They are also a great addition to Thomas Sabo bracelets and necklaces.

Weedon Craft Market 10 March 2013

A quick post today for my first craft show of the year! A new event started at the end if last year the Weedon Craft Market focuses on handcrafted by the seller. There is a great mix of artists from knitwear, candles and soaps, furniture, chocolates, cakes and not to mention handcrafted jewellery.

Heart Keyrings

A love creating new gifts to accompany my handcrafted jewellery ranges and so I developed the heart keyrings.  They are always a popular treat or gift to give not to mention being really useful.

Oh and aren’t they so pretty as well!!  I use my medium Murano heart which are 20mm in size.  During the process of hand making the heart they are solid glass except for the small hole running through them and once formed they are baked to harden them making them quite robust.

If you don’t want to use the heart keyrings on your keys then they also make a great bag decorations or zip puller.  The rounded shape of the heart has a beautiful feeling in your hand making it a pleasure to use everyday.

Handcrafted Murano Glass and Silver Rings

I have been experimenting with several new products and I am really excited to bring you my first handcrafted silver rings with Murano glass.  Below I am going to explain the process I use to create these very wearable silver rings.

How I make silver rings with Murano glass beads

The materials I use to hand make the rings are sterling silver wire 0.8mm and for the ring shown approximately 500mm long, an 8mm Murano glass bead, a ring mandrel and jewellery pliers.

I wipe the wire with a cloth to clean and polish and it also helps to supple the wire for bending.  I thread on the glass bead and position in the centre bending the wire either side as below. Continue reading →

Round Murano Glass Cufflinks

I was looking for some new Murano glass beads recently and saw these really beautiful ones in a round coin shape and thought they would be ideal for Murano glass cufflinks.  The beads are approximately 15mm in diameter and 4mm thick which I think is a very versatile size for a cufflink making them just larger than a regular button but not too large to be annoying.

Venetian Heart Pendant Necklaces

As you may have gathered by now I love Venetian glass beads!  Until I really started using Venetian glass hearts in my jewellery they weren’t really my thing it has to be said, however I am now converted and love heart pendant necklaces!

I use individually handcrafted Venetian glass hearts to create my heart pendant necklaces.  The hearts I use are approximately 12mm for the small heart pendants, 20mm in size for the medium hearts and 35mm for the large heart pendant necklaces.  Each pendant is finished with a 3mm sterling silver ball and solid silver bail to create sturdy  heart pendant necklaces.  As you can see below I also use a twisted wire wrap connection to eliminate any weaknesses in the heart pendant necklaces as I want them to last and be worn and cherished for many years.

The heart shape has a lovely rounded feel to it and slightly flatter on the sides so it sits beautifully which ever size you choose, often the hardest part is choosing the colour of your heart pendant necklace!

Coloured Glass Stud Earrings

I love wearing small stud earrings and when I am choosing them I love something unusual with colour and style so when I saw these Murano glass beads I thought that they would make great coloured glass stud earrings.

The first colour I chose was a beautiful mix of turquoise and pink across pure white glass.  All coloured glass stud earrings have an individually handmade glass front with a sterling silver post back and earring scroll.

These coloured glass stud earrings have been a great success, people love the amazing mix of coloured glass set against the white glass background and how they will coordinate with many different outfits.

The above earrings are also handcrafted from Murano glass with a lime green and grey coloured band across creating a striking colour mix.  The glass front is a round domed bead approximately 10mm in diameter a good size to be seen but not too large or over powering and good for everyday wearing.  The only problem is which coloured glass stud earrings to wear!!

Handcrafted Jewellery at Sandringham August 2012

After a bit of a break over summer, well the wet season, it is back to showcasing my handcrafted jewellery at craft events over the country and my next show is this weekend in Sandringham.  The show is a craft, sculpture and art fair with all crafts covered from textiles, knitting, painting, glass blowing to wood carving.  There are many demonstration areas and where you can see people actually making things in front of your eyes.  I will be on my Tesoro handcrafted jewellery stand within one of the several craft marquees, where you will be able to see my range of unique handcrafted jewellery including new pieces never shown before.

My Handcrafted Jewellery Stand

I can always be seen hand crafting my jewellery throughout the day.  I take many beads and findings with me so I can always design and create on the spot if you want something different or bespoke, pop along and have a look at my handcrafted jewellery as well as the other crafts and products on offer.

The event is organised by Living Heritage and more details can be found on there site here.  The show runs from Friday 10th August to Sunday 12th August 2012 and is open 10am to 6pm each day.  The address is Sandringham, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, PE35 6EN.
